I have been completely off Zoloft for two weeks now (one month including the tapering off period) and have experienced no depression at all. I would encourage anyone who was diagnosed with depression before being diagnosed with hypothyroid disease to try to get off of any antidepressant to see if you still have depression after correcting your thryoid problem. I am sure that Zoloft is necessary for many people, but not everyone and is over prescribed by doctors. I am still having brain zaps, but not as often or as bad and my headaches and crying has totally stopped. When I do get the brain zaps I have found that lying down for about 15 minutes helps them go away.
