I take 30 Abilify, 100 Lamictal, 400 Wellbutrin SR, and 1200 Trileptal. I also do Orthomolecular. This combination has been very, very good for me. I rarely take a low dose gabapentin (100mgs capsules) and/or low dose risperidone (2mgs) when I feel the need.
Hi
I copied this post of yours from an earlier thread and i wanted to ask you about it because it sounds simiilar to the route im taking to getting better and you wrote that it really helps you. I also take Abilify 30mg OD and Lamotrigine 50mg and im going to ask my physician if we can add Parnate and work up slowly instead of wellbutrin but sould mention have similar dopamine effects. I suffer from social anxiety and dopamine can boost confidence wheares sometimes people look to serotonin and GABA solution to social anxiety. What do you think about adding parnate if i feel 65% better approx/estimate on lamotrigine and abilify. thanks, pb ps i also rely on gabapentin prn, great stuff

I dunno. I don't know much about the MAOI drugs. Personally, I'd try something else before an MAOI. Not to knock the MAOIs, but...some newer drugs can get the job done w/ fewer potential problems.
Could your doc try a low dose of Ritalin or something? I mean, that can help some people w/ OCD, and it might provide enough stimulation to help w/ focus, mood issues, etc. Based on personal experience, I'd take Ritalin over an amphetamine if you're on ongoing Abilify treatment. I guess there's also Provigil, but...I don't know anything about that medication.
Hmmm...well, some people do well on Prozac+Wellbutrin. I mean, adding both would kinda be building a cocktail, but...I've been thinking about it myself. For me...I was thinking about trying to drop, or at least reduce, the Trileptal and add in 10-20mgs/ Prozac for lingering depression and my obsessive traits (not full blown OCD). I think Prozac messes w/ Abilify, so you'd have to reduce the dose of Abilify.
Ummm...could you try going up on the Lamictal? I mean, if its working, its working...I just didn't get much out of it till I hit 100. Now I get the sense that its keeping the worst of my depression at bay...taking the edge off, at least...and maybe helping with overall moodiness.
And...I do recommend trying at least some vitamins from the Orthomolecular programs. Especially if you're going to be on a neuroleptic long term...you should seriously consider at least vitamin E (preferably natural form w/ mixed tocopherols) and vitamin C a couple times daily. Just throwing that out there.
Good luck!
