Just recently, I have been able to increase my intake of fish oil. I'm now taking twice the amount I was taking months ago. I can't understand why this has come about because I was always intolerable o higher amounts of fish oil. It's just an idea, but within the last month, I've added B12, zinc, and calcium for a better antidepressant response. I take only 300mg calcium per day because I can't tolerate higher amounts. Could it be due to the çalcium supplement? I've heard that fish oil may have an effect on calcium channels in the brain. Anyone ĝut here with any experience or information on this matter? Also, since I raised my ish ĝil intake, I've been able to sleep better, which means the calcium is no longer interfering with my ability to fall asleep at night. However, I still have to take niacin, vitamin E, vitamin B6 and B1, and melatonin at bedtime to sleep okay.

Sorry, but I can't give you any input regarding the ability of fish oil to change CC function.
Calcium supplements profoundly exacerbate my bipolar depression within 30 minutes of taking them. I won't go near them now.
In what ways is calcium intolerable for you? Just the sleep?

Yes, I've had exaccerbation of bipolar symptoms with more than 300mg per day of calcium. Staying at 300mg maximum does not give me many side effects aside from sleep problems, but I have noticed that since I've increased my fish oil intake, I have been sleeping better, calcium or not. It seems I need a little calcium to help with my depression.
