IS a rude, ill-mannered, inconsiderate, clumsy or unrefined person.
A bit harsh, perhaps, but you may be right. I know my ex-T would probably agree with you.

Aw Susan.
I think 'upfront' and 'bold' might suit you more :-)
Mind you, in some moods...

Actually, that is not a civil word :-(
I don't think the poster meant it like that.
I think she was appreciating your honesty.
You can be blunt.
But blunt can be good .

How do ya mean 'all right'?
You are not a boor Susan.

I really didn't think the poster understood what the word meant. Hell, I didn't understand what the word meant until ya looked it up.
>Maybe you're right about me--even if you wrote it in a rather discomfiting and boorish way. I spent 10 years in weekly psychotherapy, and the realization that I may not be cured after all gets me down. But my therapist is still around and I'm going to see him soon to deal.
I think they were genuinely thanking you.
They felt 'discomfited'.
Your insights can hurt a wee bit.
But it is better to know...Please don't take offence.
Not till they have a chance to clarify anyways. To repeat:
You are not a boor.

I *don't* think she was appreciating Susan's honesty. Just doesn't feel that way.
Not to me.
I do appreciate your diplomatic efforts, though. ;)
If it were me I'd save them for someone I felt was more deserving, like Susan, or me.
;P
just plain crass jane

I HATE THAT my insights can hurt, oh i hate that i don't like it at all not one little bit, I'm so impossibly sorry to everyone. I really really mean that, I'm feeling a bit manic or something right now so please forgive the run-on sentences and poor grammar.

Hey now, stoppit.
Mine can too.
I dare say it is arrogant of me to call mine 'insights' half the time anyways...
Maybe it is possible to be more tactful, but would you rather hear the honest truth of what someone thinks or a silky tactful lie?
There is probably a middle path...
I like it that you are upfront.
Don't go changing on me now :-)
But I still think we should give the benefit of the doubt..Deep breaths and wait and see...

I agree, and I can't believe I ever thought I had any "insights" at all, I'm very ignorant on the whole and my "insights" are just the way I personally understand things, the way I integrate things. That's all.

And what else is an 'insight' supposed to be?
Really. I don't know.

I'm feeling kind of unstable today, maybe I'll go have a bite of special cookie, thereby putting some more holes in my brain and making it more difficult to make those mathematical connections (really, my math sucks on the stuff, it's amazing, all my mathematical ability, what little I have, anyway, just goes, zoop) BUT allowing myself the illusion that I'm emotionally clever, and beautiful (heehee, I love that one) and charming and witty and all of that stuff, and then I'll go out and schmooze on the town a bit ....
