80 years marriage to set Guinness record
London, May 22: Call it God's wish or man's ultimate tribute to relationships, with a British couple on the verge of breaking the record for the world's longest surviving marriage.
According to the Mirror, Percy and Florence-the couple will complete their 80 years of marriage on June 1 and tied the knot in 1925, a year before the Queen was born.
Today, Percy aged 105 and Florence aged 100, from Hereford, have nine great-grandchildren, and according to Florence, the never they never sleep on an argument. "We kiss every night. He can't settle if I'm not holding his hand," she said.
Guinness World Records is verifying this record against the previous one of a Japanese couple married for 78 years.
