How many here have problems with parents?

I am just wondering if there is a link between having 'problem' parents and mental distress. Surely there has to be. Although I do know that some people have the best up bringing in the world, and they still get mental illness. Obviously its not clear cut.

For me, I have alot of problems with my relationship with my parents. I just hate them. I wish they were 'normal' parents. They have had seven marriages between them -- thats just the tip of the iceberg.
